Selina William’s ART EXHIBITION
My name is Selina Williams, I’m a Cape Town, fine artist, specialising in oil painting. I wish to exhibit my 1st Art exhibition at The Cape Of Good Hope Castle. I come from lineage of slavery and warrior women. This space is sentimental and part of our Cape Town slave heritage, it’s liberating to create new stories in our spaces.
On 23rd July 1989, my sister, a soldier of Umkhonto We Sizwe, Coline Williams and her comrade Robert Waterwitch were killed during a military operation in Athlone. As only surviving sibling I carry my sister’s torch. It is an honour for me to produce my 1st exhibition, A Legacy of Our heritage.
Programme for Sunday 23rd September.
